By train: S2 or S3
The underground station Warszawa Lotnisko Chopina sits right next to the terminal. SKM (Szybka Kolej Miejska, the city's suburban rail) trains are part of the city network, so a normal ZTM ticket is valid on them.
- S2 goes through Warszawa Śródmieście, the station next to metro Centrum and the Palace of Culture.
- S3 goes through Warszawa Centralna, the main railway station, also in the centre.
Either way, the ride into the centre takes about 20 minutes. Both lines also stop at Warszawa Zachodnia and Warszawa Wschodnia, where you can change to trains across Poland.
By bus: 175 and others
Bus 175 is the classic airport bus. It runs daily along Aleje Jerozolimskie past Warszawa Centralna and metro Centrum, then up Nowy Świat and Krakowskie Przedmieście to Plac Piłsudskiego, close to the Old Town. The airport puts the journey to the Centrum stop at about 30 minutes. That is slower than the train, but handy if your hotel is on the Royal Route.
Bus 188 is handy for metro Politechnika and the east bank, bus 148 for Ursynów and Mokotów, and bus 331 runs to metro Wilanowska on weekday peaks only.
Where to catch the bus. Buses into the city pick up passengers on the lower level of the terminal, by the arrivals hall, and at the stop behind the coach terminal. Don't try to board on the upper departures level: buses there only drop people off.
Late at night: N32
When the day buses and trains stop, night bus N32 connects the airport with Warszawa Centralna, the hub of the night network. From there night buses leave in all directions. See our guide to night buses and the metro.

Taxi
The airport advises using the licensed taxis at the official rank and says a fare to the centre is about 50 PLN. The city warns against people in the arrivals hall offering rides: they are often unlicensed and charge several times more.
